Sleek Modern House in Brasilia Shuts Off Road to Integrate With Nature

Architect Patricia Almeida designed a sleek modern house for the clients who wanted it to be within road access all the while integrated with the locale’s nature. Located in Brasilia Casa Jones stands out on a green background with its white and wooden boxy shape.

Its facade almost completely shuts out the road and a single window looks more like a design detail. The yard, however, hides a swimming pool surrounded with green lawns and trees.

In order to connect the house to nature the architect opened its social areas to the fenced yard creating a strong indoor/outdoor, pavilion-like look. Supported by multiple columns the lower part of the house gets fresh air flow and unobstructed views of the green backyard. Tucked inside the enclosed second level, more private areas enjoy natural light through numerous skylights.

Open plan interiors furnished with contemporary pieces allow free movement and visual communication between different areas. Both kitchen and dining area share a longer part of the main room and only the media area is hidden behind living room furniture arrangement.

The hallway with a wooden staircase creates a stark contrast between concrete and pristine white walls of the second floor where more wooden inclusions create a cozier atmosphere. A marble-clad bath is probably the most luxurious part of the entire design, though, with its spacious shower and a freestanding tub.
