Tile House in Chile

20-20-house-9.jpg
Chilean architect Felipe Assadi has designed this amazing modern tile house that anyone would love to call “home.” But you’d have to be an invited guest to enjoy 20X20 House. Built beside its main house, this guest house is complete with one bathroom, a powder room, a kitchen/bar, and an awesome living and entertaining area, all in 1,076 sq. ft. – not too shabby for a temporary stay. This contemporary home in Calera de Tango, Chile is named for its facade, which is clad in a series of 20×20-cm ceramic tiles, giving it its unique, modern look. Designed for minimal maintenance and to withstand the climate, the architect created 20X20 House to blend with nature, not compete against it. The home’s low profile allows an uninterrupted view of the surrounding plantations from the main house, while the glass walls reflect the colors of the environment, making an unobtrusive addition to the landscape. Felipe Assadi.
