This large wooden coffee table is a relatively easy DIY project. The concept is simple, with a nice clean stable design. You see how the base of the table is fitted into the tabletop – it’s intrinsic, almost. If you don’t want to go as far as routing out the slots for the base to fit into, you don’t have to. Simply glue the top to the criss-cross support of the base. The grain of the wood you use will depend on the atmosphere you are trying to enhance. So many woods have such different qualities. And then there are the choices of stain! You can do anything from a natural look, a light honey to a dark chocolate. You can even get colored stains – you could go turquoise, red – it all depends on how adventurous you are. Your imagination is the limit for this simple DIY design.
