Here’s a dramatic home design that offers a touch of the unexpected. Though dubbed the “Ordinary House,” this unusual home by Japanese architecture firm FORM/Kouichi Kimura Architects is anything but ordinary. Interestingly, the home is located in a cookie-cutter neighborhood with “no special character,” which prompted the architects to think outside the box. A simple exterior suits its surroundings, as does the basic budget for the design. But this house stands out thanks to its unusual custom windows throughout. While minimalist interiors match the simple facade, the interplay of light and shadow makes this home one of the most dramatic we’ve seen.
