Cube Shaped Home Hidden in the City

Check out this simple but sweet cube shaped home – a piece of architectural heaven tucked in a busy city center. This stone home designed by Switzerland architecture firm Markus Wespi Jerome de Meuron strays from the traditional concept of “house” in a unique, striking design surrounded by nature. A strikingly simple silhouette – a flat-roofed pair of cubes – rises out of the hillside and overlooks the mountains, lake and city. The design is more suited to the natural landscape than its neighboring buildings, with organic stone echoing the majesty of the mountains. This slope home plan features interior courtyards that flood interiors with natural light while offering a private piece of the outdoors in this otherwise thickly populated, densely built-up area. Inside, this cube house features exposed rock walls and floor-to-ceiling windows that capture the breathtaking views while shielding its residents from prying eyes.
