Contemporary Summer Houses: Modern Lithuanian Retreat

This contemporary summer house designed by Lithuanian architecture firm G.Natkevicius & Partners is what we like to call a “great” escape! Offering views of a forest, river and a chapel, this interesting home was designed to capture the wonderful nature of Birstonas, visible through the glass wall and from the second-floor open-air terrace and rooftop patio. The four-storey house has a strong vertical presence, which is highlighted by its long, narrow windows stretching from floor to roof. The contemporary facade features cool glass and modern polished travertine panels, complemented by aluminum details that add a curious element to this summer home. The asymmetrical silhouette of the structure and the irregular-shaped windows are echoed inside, where walls are angled, giving it a very modern edge. G.Natkevicius & Partners
