Austrian Wooden Houses: Timber-clad, inside and out

This Austrian wooden house was designed by architect Daniel Sauter of K_M Architektur. The contemporary timber house captures the firm’s signature style of simplicity, using natural larch wood and plenty of glass for a light, bright design that integrates indoors and out. The ground floor includes a well-planned kitchen and dining area as well as a home office. A fabulous fireplace feature serves as a room divider of this open concept home design. Like its facade, interiors feature wood from floor to ceiling and walls, contrasted by contemporary touches like the black kitchen island details and a simple wood, glass and steel staircase leading upstairs. Surrounding the upper level, outdoor entertaining areas of the sheltered patio and open rooftop deck extend the home’s living space well beyond its walls.
