New Zealand-based firm Design Mobel knows its outdoor lounging gear! The contemporary Float outdoor canopy bed hails from the firm’s annual “challenging how we sleep” project, which calls on innovative New Zealand designers to redefine the concept of the bed. Designer David Trubridge created the fun, functional and fit design for Float. “I forgot about beds and tried to think about sleep,” he says. “I asked lots of people what ‘sleep’ meant to them. Invariably the answers contained words like ‘floating,’ ‘cozy,’ ‘romantic,’ ‘rocking,’ ‘trusting.’ My design thoughts started with these feelings.” The result is a chic outdoor bed design that cocoons and comforts, all the while looking totally cool and contemporary. Popular Patio Furniture - best of Italian patio furniture from Vittorio Bonacina
Incredible, iconic… these popular patio furniture pieces made by Vittorio Bonacina will never age. Still fresh-faced after up to sixty years, this is truly the best of Italian patio furniture. The twisted weave of the woven cane, Margherita Chair (left) was designed by Franco Albini in 1950. Its ‘arts and crafts’ revival theme remains popular today. It's an icon of design from 1957, foreshadowing the minimalist movement. The Primavera Chair by Franca Helg came later, in 1967. Patio Furniture from B&B Italia - new modern Springtime patio collection
The new modern Springtime patio furniture collection from B&B Italia offers a large range of patio products, most of them adjustable to multiple seating configurations. Sofas are an important part of the collection, having minimalistic but impressive designs. This was realised by using straight, clean line frames, made out of aluminium. The seating parts are covered in waterproof fabrics, available in three shades: grey, anthracite and acid green.
