Country House Design in Upstate New York – a modern wood with metal panels construction

Designed for a couple of contemporary art collectors in upstate New York, the modern Tsai country house by HHF Architects suits them to a T. From its abstract-looking architecture to an inspired interior, this simple structure is as unconventional as the pair who live in it. This modern home is clad in contemporary corrugated metal panels, giving the house an avant-garde look. The cool facade clashes against a warm vibrant interior with a main function of displaying art. The living room features a play of light and shadows, creating a showcase for the collection. A large window frames a scene of the pastoral countryside outdoors. The living room adjoins with the kitchen in a modern, open-concept space. The spacious and bright dining room is as much for eating as it is for appreciating the fabulous artwork gracing the wall behind the table. The master bathroom features a central fireplace which is directly connected to the master bedroom on the other side of the wall. Throughout the house, a white palette is offset by chic, urban accents and modern finishes, while rich woods create a warm contrast against the exposed brick. An outdoor terrace features an integrated fireplace and is partially open to the sky. Inspired by art, this country house itself is a masterpiece of modern architecture. HHF Architects.
