Copper Shade Pendants by Jo Hammerborg

The Orient P2 copper pendant light from Lightyears is light years ahead of the pack. If it looks familiar, that’s because it was designed by Jo Hammerborg in 1963 for a prominent Danish lighting company. And now it’s being brought back to life in this marvelous copper incarnation — a bit of yesterday and a lot of today. The peak of the lamp is made from the finest rosewood and it offsets the copper hues nicely. Those small open slats in the copper at the top of the pendant (there are 24 of them) provide interesting light textures on the wall. I can see this hanging over a desk or a sink, or as shown below – strung three across a table. They’d be lovely hanging over a breakfast bar in multiples too. Even over the kitchen sink. Kind of a retro-mod look that would suit any room, really. Doesn’t it remind you of a Hershey’s Kiss?

Hang three pendants side by side over the table for a dramatic effect.
