Bevk Perovic Arhitekti have strayed from tradition in their design for House SB, a suburban home on the outskirts of Ljubljana, Slovenia. What characterizes this modern house is its two separate boxy volumes, overlapping and framing a small garden area. This contemporary home seems standoffish at first glance. Its simple and abstract facade boasts minimal detail. The street facade of this house is clad in larch wood planks, providing the homeowners privacy from the street, which runs relatively close to the house. But this design is quite open when viewed from within. The modern interior features large windows opening onto the gorgeous rear grounds. This minimalist 190m2 house puts the bedroom area on the lower main floor, where peace and quiet is king. An open-concept loft area on the second storey is a wonderful light-filled space.
