Canyon View House with Eco Features

Check out this cool canyon view house by Sparano + Mooney Architecture. With a prime location overlooking Emigration Canyon in Salt Lake City, Utah, this contemporary style house was made with these breathtaking views in mind. A striking facade of corten steel, concrete and glass works wonderfully in this natural setting while creating a unique focal point amidst rock, trees and shrubs. Interiors are bright, thanks to a 30-ft. sliding glass wall, offering convertible indoor/outdoor entertaining areas, while the canyon view just beyond give the house its warm, earthy appeal. But there’s more to this house than what’s visible to the naked eye! This sustainable house earned the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification in the state. This eco house design features water-saving toilets, a rainwater-recycling system, natural lighting via solatube skylights, energy-efficient in-floor radiant heating, and drought-resistant landscaping that not only requires little water but further connects the house to nature.
