Social House Architecture – X marks the spot

For this social house architecture, X marks the spot. This innovative architectural design by Japanese architecture firm Katsutoshi Sasaki + Associates was designed to promote socialization within its open concept house plan. Smack dab in the heart of this home, the family room is the hub from which other rooms radiate. The “X” layout affords each room its privacy, while maintaining a connection to the others. The urban house plan, located in a densely populated city center, promoted socialization but also offers its residence their privacy with strategically placed windows and a closed facade.
