Alfonso Ideas designed a contemporary private residence in Taipei. Called Blossom, the modern dwelling has an interesting layout that is like nothing you’ve seen in housing. Odd angles shape the living room that flows into the next room, and combines kitchen and dining area.
Creating a polygonal wall between the two rooms, the designers separated each area by function. And the wide barrier also gave space to built-in storage and an extensive TV unit.
What also separates the two living areas are different floors. In the media room they’re glossy and cold, while in the sitting room they are covered with wooden planks. Both rooms look largely the same due to a white color scheme and furnishings built out of the same light wood.
One of the sitting room walls accommodates barely noticeable storage. A perfect solution for small to medium apartments, where you can hide anything from seasonal clothes to bulky sports gear.
At the opposite side of the living media room there is a kitchen with a dining table that could also double as an office desk. The two carcass pendants above it look far more decorative than the built-in and track lights that dominate the living areas. The latter ones, however, leave the interior with low ceilings more airy. The dwelling in general is a cool study in minimalism and practical solutions.
