The Bookbox Loft by Mode:lina is an interesting and inspiring apartment design. The owners’ requirements were as follows:
– “We love open space and flexible solutions, but we need cosy rooms and privacy as well.”
– “We love to be noisy; talk loudly while eating, listen to loud music etc. but at the same time J. is an early bird and I’m a night owl and we are both light sleepers.”
- ”We love and own a lot of books, clothes, shoes and other cool stuff but we have only 70 m2.”
– “Oh, did I mention, that we just can’t stand the sound of slamming doors?”
Oh boy. You can see that the team at Mode:lina had a challenging task cut out for them, one which they met with creative solutions to give the owners just what they needed. They decided to divide the space into four functional zones that could be accessed or closed off be a system of sliding doors (no slamming possible). This gives the people within the apartment the ability to customize how private or public their space feels at any given time. The four zones include the dining/kitchen/black box zone, the living room zone, the walk in closet zone and the bedroom/bathroom zone. The black box raises some intrigue doesn’t it? It’s simply a place designed to combine a small library, working desk and little dog kennel. If you look at the plans below it becomes very clear how efficient and flexible this apartment is. Great design for people who live in smaller spaces, love open plans but need privacy also (isn’t that a lot of us?). The interior decor is modern and casual. The feeling is fun, friendly and full of style. Inspiring little place. Mode:lina Architekci.
