Carola Vannini Designs a Palatial Contemporary Apartment in Italy

Carola Vannini‘s latest project is J Apartment located in Rome with an impressive square footage of 1,292 (120 square meters). The palatial contemporary apartment comes decorated with minimalist furnishings; its main feature, however – big square columns that run between the living/dining area and kitchen.

It’s been sectioned in dark boxy areas in the past, so the primary goal was to transform the layout. Instead of knocking down the walls, the designer brought sliding wall components to help make the space more versatile.

Now, if the residents would like they can enjoy an open kitchen/living/dining area or easily separate the cooking space from the main room. Behind a half wall, there is a more private seating area that instantly provides a piece of privacy.

A home office that has access to the wooden terrace can double as a guest room. There is also additional storage space in the apartment hidden behind the two backlit printed plexiglass panels.

Though most rooms are highly practical, each with its own distinct function, the apartment still looks like a contemporary palace thanks to its spacious living zone and high ceilings. Sparse furnishings amplify the size of the main room. Tall silver and white radiators deserve a note, as they make the space look all the more grand and contemporary.
