This modern Swedish apartment is just lovely, with lots of DIY wood accent ideas to steal. The color scheme is constant throughout the apartment, calm and relaxing, mainly achromatic with some dusty mauves and purples that seem to bleed out of the surrounding grays. We love all the branch decor, which is something you could easily do yourself - gather some branches and put them in a vase. What could be simpler? They don’t need water, they can last forever and it brings a rustic touch of nature right indoors. Or how about those tree stump accent tables in the living room? Another super easy idea that can really enhance or change the look of your space. You could also think about removing the bark and sanding them down for a smooth look or leave them as is for a real authentic touch. You could even paint them to match your interior colors. And last but not least, we are smitten with the gigantic tree branch in the entrance that serves as a coat rack. Simple genius.

This is the home of an Italian architect who had the idea to use salvaged wooden crates in the interior design to create modular furniture. Pretty creative and a wonderful result we had to share. The crates have been put together to serve as room dividers, storage, shelves, tables, platforms, seating and even a work desk. In all, 300 crates were used for the project. This home is well rounded and very expressive, with a mixture of styles and materials, designer items, reused items and even some Ikea pieces. It’s quite a refreshing interior scheme - stylish, rustic, cozy, modern. We are totally inspired. How about you?

Piet Hein Eek had this very creative design idea for one of their client’s foyer wall. They simply covered it with a bunch of old doors, cut and arranged to fit together like puzzle pieces that fill the entire wall. Some of them look worn, others look newer, some are plain, some have patterns. This quirky, rustic melange looks so great against the modern staircase. The idea seems simple but it is so creative, and probably something a DIY enthusiast could handle. The images feature two versions of the project - one with mainly white doors and another full of color. They have such a different impact but both are equally cool.

Pillows can be so much more than what they are traditionally used for - as seen in these examples featuring some pretty creative pillow headboard ideas. Pillows are great.
