The San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is a rustic log cabin with a modern twist, sitting 1,200m up in the forests of Pustertal in Italy. Like its location, this sky-high log cabin makes you feel like you’re a million miles away in the very lap of luxury and sumptuous pursuits. A warm and welcoming atmosphere indeed invites you into the living area with an amazing vaulted ceiling – a design to die for. Knotty wood floors and imperfect lime-finished masonry walls complement the cabin’s natural, earthy textures and organic, indigenous material palette. The painstaking reclaim of an historic hunting lodge (circa 1500) meant restoring the wood to its original glory – well worth the effort. A stunning fireplace is, no doubt, one of the home’s many cozy hotspots. And the rustic bedrooms? A veritable dream, with exposed wood beams and fabulous details like the antique skis mounted over the bed. This spa-inspired cabin comes equipped with under-floor heating – nice touch! – a gorgeous Turkish bath with chromatherapy, a Finnish-style sauna and a rooftop hot tub. And a perfect end to a perfect day, the wine cellar (once used as a barn for goats) is something to toast, featuring local stone flooring, original stone walls, and original wood ceiling.
