This Contemporary Urban House Loves the Outdoors

Urban Angles designed this contemporary urban house with tiny outdoor space to make the most of what it’s got. Built from the collage of wood, brick, and black siding, the abode is a modern-looking building with a third floor open terrace, and a strip of narrow backyard or, should we rather say, side yard?

As you enter the property from the street side, there is a narrow entrance to the yard accessed through a small staircase. From it, you can enter the kitchen, and proceed to the living room down the stairs, or to the private rooms up the stairs.

The entire wall of the kitchen is made of huge glass panels, one of which slides open to allow entrance. This makes both the narrow kitchen and yard look and feel more spacious.

Living room has view of the street, and also keeps the green theme going with a nature-inspired mural. Greenery pervades every room in the house including a bathroom.

Since the narrow layout seems to affect most of the rooms, the architects employed glass inclusions and reflective surfaces to visually enhance the space. In the kitchen, they covered the backsplash and a part of the wall in polished stainless steel. In a small shower, there is a slim tall window that makes the tiny room look more spacious.
