Roof Extension Lets You See Tree Tops Right from the Bedroom

This roof extension lets you see the tree tops right from either of the two new bedrooms. In fact, right from bed. And what an incredible window. Who are we kidding? It’s a glazing wall! From Dutch studio, Bloot Architecture, Transformation Forest House is in the east Netherlands – in a forest, of course. The extension was almost entirely constructed out of timber, with flax insulation. The roof itself is larch-clad, all added to the original 1950’s holiday home. The sunlight in the bedrooms is tempered by the leafy canopy of the trees. They filter rays and keep the rooms cool – while still allowing natural light to permeate the space. Being in that bedroom must be like being in a tree house. We love it!
