Raised House Plan is “Hot” and Passively Cool

San Diego-based architecture firm Architects Magnus designed this modern ranch house as a reflection of its surroundings, with a nod to the future. This raised house plan is a pinnacle both literally and figuratively; a local architectural icon perched on a hill overlooking a vast valley. The home’s raised position invites breathtaking views in, as well as the distant Pacific breeze to passively cool the home during the sweltering summer months. Another “cool” eco-friendly feature of this house is its modern metal roof, which features a deep overhang which shelters the floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors, passively cooling the home in the heat of the day. Interiors are modern and contemporary, with a decidedly rustic element. Natural elements are given the royal treatment for a luscious finish of the stone floors, wood built-ins and ceilings, and an open concept and airy floor plan. Architects Magnus.
