Earth Friendly Home Designs: An ode to Earth Day

In the spirit of Earth Day coming up, we thought we'd feature one of the more interesting, more efficient earth friendly home designs we've come across. From the outside, this sustainable architectural design by Kolon Engineering and Construction and Unsangdong Architects taken on a quirky persona. This passive solar home features a rooftop garden and vertical plantings, incorporated for their natural cooling effects, and PV panels that harness the sun and take some pressure off the grid. Located just an hour outside of Seoul, this South Korean house actually 27 per cent of the energy of an average Korean home, and generates 38 per cent of the energy used by the average Korean home.
