Concrete House in Rural Chile Designed as Fortified Home

Picking up the pieces of a previously unfinished agricultural development, Martin Hurtado Architects designed this amazing contemporary concrete house, sprawling out among its surrounding rural landscape. Conforming to the hilly terrain, trees and farmland of the Chilean outback, this modern architectural example of man-meets-nature shows that the two can live together in harmony, one inspiring the other with striking results. From the outside, the home is a secure fortress. A view from the inside reveals a unique interior courtyard, naturally formed through the interesting positioning of this home's exterior walls. Though it’s not your traditional specimen of “beauty,” this amazing house is certainly a stunning example of creative design. Martin Hurtado Architects
