Riverfront Cottage – Contemporary Vacation House

Japanese architect Yasutaka Yoshimura designed this riverfront cottage in the small fishing village of Sajima, Japan, built about as close as you can get to the waterfront without getting your feet wet. Adjacent to an old sea wall, this triangle shaped, glass wall cottage is configured to make the most of the surrounding vistas. The exterior is punctuated by differently shaped windows, cut into the white facade. The shape of the windows also defines the architecture of each room in some way. The materials of this riverfront house interior vary from natural wood to contemporary concrete, and of course, plenty of windows. This vacation house plan is indeed a great escape.
