Odd Shaped Houses in Japan

Japanese architecture firm Tomohiro Hata Architect and Associates designed this odd shaped house in Nagoya, Japan. This unique home features an interesting angular facade with a staggered roofline that opens up oddly shaped new volumes inside the home. Another interesting feature, an interior courtyard gives the house plan its own private piece of the outdoors here in this urban center. The steel clad house is dotted with many windows that glow by night and flood interiors with natural light by day. Minimalist interiors put the home’s focus squarely on its main feature – its shape. Interior windows and lofts, single- and double-height spaces add architectural interest to this intriguing home. Tomohiro Hata Architect and Associates
