Industrial Style House Plan – Suburban Exterior, Industrial Interior

Architect Randy Weinstein, of California-based firm Randy Weinstein Design, created the Cooper Residence right in his own playground of Santa Monica, California. This industrial style house features a cool gray, suburban-style facade complemented by stucco and steel, which is a stunning contrast to the industrial-chic interiors where raw materials, exposed corrugated steel and brick, and exposed wood beams turn this design on its head. Inside, this contemporary house features a relatively typical main level layout – until you look up and find yourself peering into the second storey through a transparent floor. And the higher you go, the more interesting this house gets. Upstairs, this unusual house plan is entirely open – open to below and open to adjacent rooms, complete with peek-a-boo windows on the interior. Topping off this cool house design is the roof, which is an inverted, V-shaped silhouette that resembles a bird’s wings in flight. Randy Weinstein Design
