Historic Modern Houses – a Beautiful Contradiction

Old-world charm meets contemporary style in this historic modern house in Tel Aviv, designed by Pitsou Kedem Architect. The centuries-old facade of this stone house conceals contemporary details that highlight one another to bring out the best in this design. The feeling is stately and grand, despite the home’s 1,130 sq. ft. Extra-high vaulted ceilings reveal an authentic look, complemented by exposed brick walls and columns contrasting these otherwise minimalist interiors. Vaulted doorways and windows echo that wonderful castle-like quality, while beyond their glass panes, views of the city and sea are framed like a masterpiece. A floor-to-ceiling glass wall opens this house onto an outdoor entertaining area overlooking the sparkling water. Pitsou Kedem Architect
