Sustainable Home in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles – the Glamorous Skyline Residence

Sustainable, economical and totally glamorous, the contemporary Skyline Residence by Belzberg Architects was recently honored at the 38th Annual Los Angeles Architectural Awards. This 5,800-sq.-ft. home in Los Angeles, California, was designed with two key objectives – sustainability and budget – which actually worked in favor of one another. With environmentally friendly technology rising as the new and brightest star, so too does its cost. But this innovative architect illustrates how some of the most sustainable home practices are also the most simple. The principle behind this forward-thinking plan is “carbon neutral economics,” which uses locally sourced home building materials, thus minimizing both costs and emissions associated with the transport of goods. The home’s architecture is minimal, boasting simple lines and floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the spectacular skyline. Overlooking the world-famous Hollywood Hills, this luxurious yet cost-conscious house gives the million-dollar views a run for their money. Belzberg Architects.
