The first thing that grabs your attention with the new Duravit Onto economic bathroom design is the way the console or vanity top seems to sit on the basin – instead of the other way round – in an economic use of materials. It is part of the Onto bathroom collection, created by award-winning designer Matteo Thun, and aimed primarily at the commercial sector, though it wouldn’t be out of place in a domestic setting. Wall mounted, the console appears to float, with no bulky feet anchoring it to the floor. Practically speaking it is a shelf or table, framing the basin and providing space for personal effects; from an aesthetic viewpoint, its minimal lines and soft curved front give a contemporary organic look, enhanced by the natural wood finish. Also available as a double basin console, the simple design makes for easy assembly and installation. To find out more visit Duravit.
