Sweet Design – Modern Nestlé Chocolate Museum in Toluca, Mexico by Rojkind Arquitectos

This modern structure is a first for Mexico in more ways than one. Designed by Rojkind Arquitectos, Nestlé Chocolate Museum in Toluca, Mexico, is the first chocolate museum south of the border, and also boasts a first when it comes to architectural flair. The 1,000-sq.-ft. red facade is a roadside attraction for anyone driving along the freeway. A gaping mouth reveals interiors of white, and leads into a 6,824-sq.-ft. entrance where the Mexican version of the Wonka tour begins. The design incorporates a theater, a shop, and a series of bending tunnels that lead into the adjoining chocolate factory. Interiors highlight the playful complexities visible from the “folded” origami-inspired exterior. Rojkind Arquitectos.
