Interior Decorating with OSB (oriented strand board)

Using OSB (oriented strand board) is one of the latest trends in interior decorating, and with good reason. There are many advantages to using it in the home. A competitor to plywood, OSB is usually less expensive, resists humidity just as well, and both are strong and durable. But the look of it is the best part. Of course, one could finish and paint the boards but we love the raw look of it – as seen in the featured spaces. Plus, leaving it natural cuts down on the workload too. The boards themselves provide a decorative element thanks to the orientation of the wood strands (which have a different look than the plies in plywood). It can provide a nice warm contrast in modern homes and can be used to add textural emphasis to a minimalist interior. Try it on a whole wall, or use it for furniture, stairs or built in items. The decorating possibilities are endless and can make such a nice impact in the home.
