Unusual Portuguese Architecture – A House of Art

Casa das Historias is a contemporary concrete house that sits in the Portuguese seaside town of Cascais. Designed by architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, this unusual Portuguese architecture is an homage to history with an eye toward the future. Made expressly to house a collection of work by London-based Portuguese artist Paula Rego, the home features two sky-reaching volumes that stand out on the horizon, its rusty-red concrete color conspicuous against the green, grassy surroundings. One of the prominent pyramids houses the art gallery, but you could call this entire house design a masterpiece! Eduardo Souto de Moura
