The Living Room House in Gelnhause, Germany is quite possibly the town’s main attraction, with its contemporary window-clad white exterior juxtaposed against the neighborhood’s surrounding traditional homes. Designed by Seifert Stoeckmann, the home’s powder-coated exterior is dotted with a checkerboard of 52 windows that flood the interior with natural light. Interiors are just as unconventional as the exterior. The ground floor features a rocky floor with a raised “plateau” gracing the central living area. The stairs can be classified as art as easily as stairs, boasting artful detailing. Among the home’s notable features is a balcony off the bedroom, designed as an opened drawer and overlooking the street below. Seifert Stoeckmann
