Cool, clean and contemporary, while preserving its history, this glazed home designed by Australian architects MCK blurs the boundary between indoors and out. With the skin of the house maintaining its distinct character, the architects gutted the interior and transformed it into a fresh, modern haven. But an important element to the design was preserving its terraces, offering that important indoor-outdoor connection. The glass wall house features facades that slide open to reveal the garden – and a fresh aesthetic to complement its minimalist interiors. A cool feature of this contemporary style home is that the garden is even with the interior – an L-shape to maximize the outdoor views – providing a seamless transition for outdoor living.
