Prefab Gives Long Island Seashore Home Focus and View

When is a box not a box? When Resolution: 4 Architecture turns a two-story prefabricated house into a spectacular coastal home on Long Island. From the stunning stainless fireplace on the 360-view deck to the cook’s kitchen on the main floor – you’ll never want to leave this architectural gem. Glass and wood join forces to provide clean, symmetrical lines and breathtaking views from this 4-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom beach house. The south-facing floor to ceiling windows overlook classic dunes to the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. Positioned to take advantage of the natural vistas, the outdoors becomes part of the design. And back inside, open, flowing entertainment areas with high ceilings and warm recessed lighting invite guest and host alike to linger long, and enjoy the scenery.

Floor to ceiling glass walls offer premium seaside views – while a solar tube, or sun pipe, illuminates the covered deck just off the master bedroom.

The covered deck just off the master bedroom provides sweeping ocean views and a sun pipe for rays during the day and starlight at night. Note how the circular design of the sun pipe is echoed in the three ceramic pots and the linear wood floor lines are picked up in the railing design, the Adirondack chair – and the horizon.

Speaking of master bedrooms (to die for) — how would you like to wake up to this view every morning?

Built-in closets drawers are in keeping with the simplistic style of the house – after all, the view is the star. And you can even see it in the strategically-placed mirror.

Double bunk beds and more built-ins – along with navy stripes – give a nautical twist to the kids’ room. (And there’s that view again!)

The recessed lighting on the ceiling of the great room mimics an airport runway and moves the eye down the expanse of the room – overlooking (once more) the expansive view. An open concept and glass walls once again brings the outdoors inside.

A cook’s kitchen opens onto the living area of the great room with a breakfast bar/island in the middle. Smooth lines and flush cabinets (with no protruding knobs) continue through this room and in keeping with the view theme, a row of windows are placed at eye level across the back of the house.

The top deck provides magnificent 360-degree views with classic white lounge chairs for stretching out on in the ocean breeze. The stainless-steel fireplace provides a source of heat for cooler evenings under the stars.

They built the structure in a warehouse and brought it to the beach.
