Sustainable Bamboo Paneling from Smith & Fong

Founded in 1989, Smith & Fong expresses a “passionate affinity for bamboo” with an “overarching philosophy of sustainability”. The company’s line of Plyboo Tambour sustainable bamboo paneling is an intriguing example of this declaration. Constructed of precision milled bamboo strips applied to a fabric backing with non-toxic glue, the paneling is flexible enough to attach to both concave or convex surfaces, as well as flat walls and ceilings.

The more textural, organic line of the paneling is available in three colors – green, amber and black – and retains raised nodes on the outside of the bamboo skin. A smoother, sanded line is also available in amber and natural. All Smith & Fong sustainable bamboo paneling products comply with the California Air Resources Boards’s formaldehyde regulations for composite panel and can earn LEED credits for MR 6: rapidly renewable materials as well as EQ 4.4 - no added formaldehyde.
