Modern Furniture from J.Persing - Material-efficient Ply-bent Method Requires 87% Less Lumber

modern-furniture-jpersing-1.jpg

By utilizing a technique known as “ply-bent”, J.Persing designs curvaceously streamlined, material-efficient modern furniture that is often molded from a single piece of wood. The result: as compared to conventional wood furnishing, 87% less lumber is required for construction. Ply-bending (or molded ply) techniques have been available for over a hundred years and have been explored by such noted modern designers as Aalto, Eames and Danko.

There is absolutely nothing superfluous about these sleekly elegant designs: the Bodyform chair is even featured in the permanent collection of The New York Modern Museum of Art. To further the material-efficient, green process, J.Persing uses non-toxic, water-based finishes and adhesives. Sold by Vivavi
