Jerry Kott describes himself as a “maker”: thereby stretching beyond the limited boundaries of categories such as artist, designer or craftsperson. One of the things he “makes” are modern lighting fixtures hand crafted from recycled bottles. His RE Series is based on the philosophy of “rebuild, redefine, relive, reinvent and recycle”.

Repurposing empty wine bottles, Kott cuts them apart, polishes the edges, frosts the glass inside and out; then re-assembles the pieces into multi-colored hanging or standing pendants. Since he is using recycled bottles, colors vary. The Khrysallis 2 comes with a tubular compact fluorescent bulb that provides the output of a 40-watt incandescent bulb while using only 7 watts. These one-of-a-kind modern lighting fixtures are priced at approximately $190 - $310 pendant.
