Niche Design, an “environmentally smart design group”, has been cited as one of the top three eco-conscious design firms by Time Out New York. This modern design firm focuses on beautiful - and sustainable - interiors. The company’s green criteria includes: timber from responsibly managed forests, rapidly renewable resources such as bamboo, reclaimed materials and the use of locally produced (within a 500 mile radius) resources. Principal, Kim Nadel, is a LEED accredited professional who teaches green design at the New York School of Interior Design. In addition to choosing eco-conscious materials, Niche Design “researches, evaluates and supports companies, suppliers and manufacturers who incorporate sustainability as part of their business practices”. The company also offers a line of sleek, minimalist furniture – the Shape Series.
