Boston Hosts Greenbuild 2008 Expo

greenbuild-2008-4.jpg

The theme for Greenbuild 2008 conference and expo, “Revolutionary Green: Innovations for Global Sustainability”, is befitting of a Boston (as in Tea Party) location. While the ensuing revolution will be much quieter, it is equally important. “Buildings play a critical role in protecting and improving our environment and the health of the people who occupy them.” states the Greenbuild site. Happily, there are a growing number of building professionals, students, landscape architects, educators, engineers, non-profit organizations and government agencies that agree. In the last 5 years, the number of attendees rose from 4,189 to 22,726. Since the mission is about reducing global warming, it’s heartening to also note that the number of countries represented went from 27 in 2002 to 66 in 2007.

The conference’s vendor list includes well-known and respected companies from all categories of the building industry, including flooring, countertops, lighting, decking, roofing, composting, solar energy, waste management solutions, and more.
