Alteck Italia design has been in the furniture business for four generations – since 1920 – and their commitment to quality and style is evident in their offerings. There are a lot more great pieces on their website (see below) but we fell in love with these three chairs. The “Armadillo” line is available in an office chair (two different styles) or a lounge chair. The “Kore” is a retro design with modern style. The Armadillo lounge chair (above) is sleek and elegant and modern as well as designed for comfort. A fine example of modular seating with two large and two small pieces, it is upholstered in the finest of Italian leathers (and available in multiple colors). It’s also available with or without armrests – your choice! Like the Armadillo office chairs (below), this is a well designed and superbly built piece of wood, steel and leather.
Armadillo 1 (above) is the high-back office chair and it’s easy to see why they called this line “Armadillo” with it’s jointed pieces. The chair is adjustable for tilt and height, and has all the right moves. The elegant lines in the wood and the suppleness of the leather speak volumes about the person who sits in this chair.
Armadillo 2 is the lower back (two panels) version of this chair for those who don’t want such a high back. But you’ll sacrifice none of the quality in this choice. You get the same tilt and height control and of course, it’s on wheels for easy movement. The Armadillo will really elevate the level of your workspace – bet it at home, or at the office.
And then we have the “Kore” chair, available in a polished, anodized or painted finish. Said designer Silvia Baggio:”My grandfather made this chair in wood in the ’40s and my father wanted to reproduce it in aluminum. The result is a masterpiece with a timeless value.” You’ll get no argument from us. This incredible chair takes the timelessness of the Italian Paesana (or country) chair and updates it for today. And with the multitude of finishes available, this chair would fit anywhere you wanted it to go.
The wood pieces are finished in walnut and the chair adjusts to five different positions.
You sacrifice no style or comfort in choosing the lower back chair: same workmanship, same quality.
