A New Trend has been spotted - the Square Showerheads

Whether it is a handheld or a regular shower, the square shower heads are in trend right now. So far, we’ve spotted only two faucet manufacturers that have started making these:
Swiss KWC makes KWC QBIX and KWC QBIX-ART Hand showers.
US Graff Faucets have introduced the Manhattan Square Head Shower.

We expect other brands to join the trend. Let’s wait and see ...

Residential faucet trends 2005 according to Elkay

There's an interesting article on Elkay's website about the Residential Faucet Trends. Written by Joel Williams, it clearly shows that the approach to faucet design today is to make it a centerpiece of the kitchen or bathroom - "the water appliance that rises above it all". Besides discussing finishes and features, the article prompts for several important visual characteristics of today's faucets that help create this new trend...
- Minimalist geometry - simple curves, straight lines and symmetry creates clean contemporary look... The minimalism is in, "anything 'fussy' is out'...
- More substantial in sizes - with larger diameters and rectangular shapes, faucets are more substantial than ever
- Taller faucets - they draw more attention
Of course, this doesn't mean that traditional faucets aren't in demand... but the contemporary design is what's really booming now...
Indeed, Elkay's opinion is echoed by many faucet manufacturers - they thrive to create the most minimalist but still very functional faucets. Some good examples from well- and not-so-well-known manufacturers:

A new trend has just been spotted in home interior design - illuminating products with colored light and making them glow in the dark. With some products, the light adds functionality, with others, it sets the mood... These new and innovative product finds show that light is used as a focal point of the design:

Color Trends 2005 - the earthy Tuscan style is in!

The latest 2005 color trend is moving toward more casual feel, and is dominated by the Tuscan style with its earth-tone paints. Influenced by the 'Under the Tuscan Sun' movie, the Tuscan color palette mixes golds, browns, greens and clay reds throughout the house. Look at the movie flyer (right) ...these are very much the colors that are in trend now. To attain the popular Tuscan look, faux finishes and murals are used more than ever. The newest glazes that are easier to use also help to achieve the distressed look of the Tuscan style cabinets and furniture in the kitchen and dining and living rooms. Spawned by their use with glazes, metallic colors are also surging in popularity. Wallpaper in the mentioned earth tones maintains its popularity. In contrast, in kid’s bedrooms, pink, orange, green and turquoise are popular colors.

Kitchen And Bathroom Trends for 2005

Create Custom Geometric Design
Most of the traditional kitchen and bathroom designs use symmetry and a safety of common shapes - square vanity, round mirrors and very proportional look.
New trend is creating different shapes in the bathroom by using a custom asymmetrical wall mounted vanity, a custom mirror that emphasizes the different shapes, indirect lighting to highlight the different wall height using dimmable, energy efficient fluorescent lighting fixtures with mini fluorescent cans.

Curve Lines
A new wave of design is flowing through modern kitchen and bathrooms. From mirrors to lighting, ceilings and countertops, curves are the next big thing right now. It is very popular in kitchen island and ceiling designs. Curvature touch creates a warmer modern look and feel.

Use Artistic Light Illuminations
Every room needs a light... Today, a new trend is to use lighting as a part of the room inspiration and overall theme, rather than a necessity.
Most recessed lights provide homeowners with sufficient light but adding design lighting can give a room a lot more personality.

Add Iridescent Decorative Tile
New trend is a great opportunity for you to personalize your space and create a focal point in the room. How can you do it?

Wall mounted faucets are an emerging trend now. They add a clean line to any bathroom design. And you can be more creative when selecting or designing a bathroom vanity because its size or shape doesn't have to fit the faucet. Wall mounted faucets are easier to clean since the water doesn't drip down the sink, it goes strait down into the drain. Installing them in the vanity mirror (drill through) makes it even more attractive.
